Toddler Quote Tuesdays

Welcome to Toddler Quote Tuesday! (That sounds much better if you read it aloud in your best movie narrator voice.) Since at least 75% of my time is spent chatting with little kids, I have had the (sometimes dubious) pleasure of hearing all sorts of gems. Every Tuesday I'll put up another quote or conversation that I had with a toddler in the past week. Sometimes they'll be new, and some especially funny ones might be from the archives of my brain. Either way, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Today's quote comes from a little boy I babysit. He's in my class on Wednesday's, and his little sister is in my Sunday morning class. He is such a treasure! 

O: "And then if my daddy says yes you can ask your daddy if you can come with me to Grammy's house!"

Miss Becky: "But my daddy is in Heaven, O. I can't ask him. But I can give myself permission!"

O: (looks at his play phone with a small frown) "You hafta ask, Miss Becky!"

Miss Becky: "I don't have anyone to ask, O. I'm sorry."

O: "But you have Miss Kim! Miss Kim can say yes, just ask Miss Kim! Call her?"

Miss Becky laughed and laughed until she started to cry, then texted Miss Kim and laughed some more, and since laughing people aren't that interesting, O ran off to play with his sister instead.

And here's a bit of backstory for that to make a bit more sense: Miss Kim is the other lady that I teach with almost every class. She is also my best friend, and has been for about eleven years now. She is absolutely fantastic with our 3-4 year old class, and I'm pretty sure most of the boys have a bit of a crush on her.
